About the TRIAL

The CLN-PRO-V012 trial will look at an investigational product called a human acellular vessel (HAV™). The aim of the trial is to see how safe and effective the HAV is in women with end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) needing hemodialysis. The trial will compare the HAV with an autogenous arteriovenous fistula (AVF).

About the HAV

The HAV is grown from smooth muscle cells that were taken from an organ donor. The cells that form the HAV produce proteins, such as collagen, which create the HAV. When the HAV is fully formed, the donor cells are removed so the HAV itself no longer contains any cells from the organ donor. Your body can then use the HAV as a replacement blood vessel. In this trial, the HAV is used to join an artery and vein together in your upper arm/forearm for hemodialysis vascular access.
